Perfect Cocktail Dresses for Graduation

Friday, February 28, 2014

It's almost Graduation Time and in a few more weeks, we will be witnessing those close to us who are graduating to prepare for this very special day. Of course, for women like me, aside from the academic side and rehearsals, we will also be fretting on what to wear on that day. Most of the schools allow their students to wear something fancy underneath their toga's right? Even so, some schools also prepare a grad ball for their new graduates so it's not a surprise for them to prepare what to wear!

For this special occasion, women/ladies might want to wear cocktail dresses. Accordingly, the length of a cocktail dress is long, often touching the ankle however when it is about 5 cm (2 inches) above the ankle it is called tea length and when it is almost touching the ankle it is called ballerina length, although ballerina length dresses usually fall into the evening gown category. At semi-formal occasions, a less elaborate, shorter-length cocktail dress may be worn. Prior to the mid 20th century this type of dress was known as 'late afternoon'. When gentlemen are in business suits, ladies also wear dress suits or "good" afternoon skirt and dresses. I guess a shorter length of cocktail dress will be suitable for grad ceremonies. Here are a few cocktail dresses I found at which you will surely fall in love with!

I personally think that these choices are perfect for Graduation Ceremonies and/or Grad Ball. They are sophisticated, with perfect length, cut, texture and color. Check out for more choices!
