I've had my DSLR for more than 2 years now and never have I attended any seminar/workshops on photography except for this year. Maybe because I always thought my sister will be the one using it anyway to shoot for my OOTDs. However, this year, I wanted to change that. I want to know my camera more so I invested in an event that can help me hone my technical skills and creativity. You've got to learn the basics right? Last April 25-27, I joined more than 70 participants from all over Zamboanga to attend the first ever More than Basic Photography Workshop with the best lecturers/photographers of Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation (FPPF). It was held at the function hall of ABC Bakeshop, Sta. Maria.
I also became an accidental model for some of my classmates. Haha! |
It's truly an awesome experience to be at such a workshop because I've learned a lot of things that I didn't know about my camera. I was like a totally eager-beaver attending first day of class. Hahahaha! :) I just enjoyed the classes a lot and the actual shoot with the models turned out to be really fun. It taught me on how to apply all the basic lessons our instructors taught us. We had the shoot at the Boyscout Park at Brgy Pasonanca :) Plus I met so many of Zamboanga's great photographers too (some with whom I will be modeling for) as well many new friends. Now, I'll never look at anything the same way. I find myself thinking of ways on how to take better photos taking in mind all the rules and basics I learned.
I even landed 7th place for the Portrait Category :) I didn't quite expect that! Here's my winning piece for that category. We weren't allowed to edit our photos on Adobe so what we had printed were untouched/unprocessed.
i think you're a pretty model and photographer!
